Loney Hutchins
Appalachia

After leaving his management position for the House of Cash publishing label, Loney Hutchins recorded his sole full length in 1979, Appalachia, an album that was too rock for Nashville and too country for LA. Landing somewhere between Eddie Rabbit and Z.Z. Top, it was edgier than the eventual arrival of 80’s crossover country acts like Alabama. Featuring Dolly Parton’s live rhythm section from her mid 70’s era and searing hot electric guitar lead, Appalachia is reissued in its original, 10 song form, taken directly from the source 2” tapes and restored/remastered. Available everywhere, March 4th, 2022.
